October 10, 2026. Today after having the breakfast where the Holy Spirit has me here in La Romana, Dominican Republic, praying and expecting miracles and wonders, sharing the Good News of Jesus in the eating area, as well as some worship songs with the people eating and staff; I was led to sit outside and listen to Matthew 19 and Revelations 7, which have been read many times, but today the part about the 4 living creatures was highlighted for me. I started praying and asking the Holy Spirit about them and I was led to share the findings, with the leading of the Holy Spirit. See how the Holy Spirit speaks to you, in Jesus name:

Reading that speak about the 4 living creatures:

“Then Peter said to him, “We’ve given up everything to follow you. What will we get?” Jesus replied, “I assure you that when the world is made new and the Son of Man sits upon his glorious throne, you who have been my followers will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life. But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭27‬-‭30‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“In front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass, sparkling like crystal. In the center and around the throne were four living beings, each covered with eyes, front and back. The first of these living beings was like a lion; the second was like an ox; the third had a human face; and the fourth was like an eagle in flight. Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty— the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.” Whenever the living beings give glory and honor and thanks to the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever), the twenty-four elders fall down and worship the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever). And they lay their crowns before the throne and say, “You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.””
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬-‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Then I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds so they did not blow on the earth or the sea, or even on any tree. And I saw another angel coming up from the east, carrying the seal of the living God. And he shouted to those four angels, who had been given power to harm land and sea, “Wait! Don’t harm the land or the sea or the trees until we have placed the seal of God on the foreheads of his servants.” And I heard how many were marked with the seal of God—144,000 were sealed from all the tribes of Israel: from Judah 12,000 from Reuben 12,000 from Gad 12,000 from Asher 12,000 from Naphtali 12,000 from Manasseh 12,000 from Simeon 12,000 from Levi 12,000 from Issachar 12,000 from Zebulun 12,000 from Joseph 12,000 from Benjamin 12,000 After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. And they were shouting with a great roar, “Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!” And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living beings. And they fell before the throne with their faces to the ground and worshiped God. They sang, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength belong to our God forever and ever! Amen.” Then one of the twenty-four elders asked me, “Who are these who are clothed in white? Where did they come from?” And I said to him, “Sir, you are the one who knows.” Then he said to me, “These are the ones who died in the great tribulation. They have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white. “That is why they stand in front of God’s throne and serve him day and night in his Temple. And he who sits on the throne will give them shelter. They will never again be hungry or thirsty; they will never be scorched by the heat of the sun. For the Lamb on the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.””
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭7‬:‭1‬-‭17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Matthew
Lion (pictures the King)

Mathew’s gospel is written primarily to the Jews. It starts with Jesus’ genealogy to prove Jesus was a descendant of Abraham, a son of David. It contains frequent quotes from the Old Testament to prove the Messiahship of Jesus. It shows Jesus is the King, the Lion of the tribe of Judah

Mark
Ox (pictures a servant of man)

Mark’s gospel was written to Gentiles. It doesn’t contain many quotes from the Old Testament but presents Jesus who came to serve (like the ox) and give His life for the many (Mark 10:45)

Luke
Man (pictures His humanity)

Luke’s gospel presents the humanity of Jesus. He is often called ‘the Son of Man’ in this gospel and gives many stories that are not found anywhere else.

John
Flying Eagle (pictures His heavenly origin and divine nature)

John’s gospel presents Jesus, Holy Spirit as God! Not just a servant, not just a man, not even just the Messiah… But God Almighty, the I AM, Yahweh, from the Old Testament. The Word who is God.

God didn’t create these living creatures to point to the Gospels. He created these living creatures to point to the One that the Gospels point to… Jesus Christ! And they have told this eternal story since their creation and will do so for all eternity!

These living creatures are around the throne constantly and each face presents a different aspect of the character of Christ, Holy Spirit:

  • Living Creature 1: ‘The first living creature was like a lion’ – Reminds us and all of heaven that Jesus, Holy Spirit is the Lion from the tribe of Judah. He is the King. He is the Promised Messiah who will come shortly to rule in His Kingdom.
  • Living Creature 2: ‘The second was like an ox’ – Reminds us and all of heaven that Jesus, Holy Spirit was willing to suffer and bear our burden of sin, for we were not able.
  • Living Creature 3: ‘The third had a face like a man’ – Reminds us and all of heaven that God, Holy Spirit, had to become a man in order to save mankind.
  • Living Creature 4: ‘The fourth was like a flying eagle’ – Reminds us that this He was no ordinary man! He was divine, from Heaven, and to there He returned at His ascension.

So we could say that the King of kings (Lion), who was from Heaven (Eagle) was willing to come and take on flesh (man) to suffer for our sins and bear our burdens (Ox).

And that sounds a lot like the Gospel truth recorded in Philippians:

Php 2:5-11 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: (6) Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, (7) but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. (8) And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death– even death on a cross! (9) Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, (10) that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, (11) and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Revelations 2:29 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
