Matthew 12: The True Family of Jesus

46 As Jesus was speaking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him. 47 Someone told Jesus, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, and they want to speak to you.”[a]

48 Jesus asked, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” 49 Then he pointed to his disciples and said, “Look, these are my mother and brothers. 50 Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!”

According to Matthew 12:46-50 in the Bible, Jesus redefines “brothers and sisters” as anyone who does the will of his Father in heaven. He explains that spiritual connection—based on following God’s word—takes precedence over physical bloodlines, making fellow believers’ part of his family.

Key Aspects of This Definition:

  • The Family of God, Jesus, Holy Spirit: Those who hear God’s word and act on it are considered part of this spiritual family.
  • A Broader Relationship: This definition expands the concept of family beyond blood relations to include anyone committed to doing God’s will.
  • Inclusive Community: This spiritual family unites believers across different backgrounds, ages, and nations.

In this context, your brothers and sisters are those who share in faith and actively follow the will of God.

James and Jude, identified in the Gospels as brothers of Jesus, were his brothers (sons of Mary and Joseph). Initially skeptical of his ministry, they became followers after the Resurrection. James became the leader of the early Jerusalem church, while both are attributed as authors of New Testament epistles. An epistle is a formal, didactic letter, often written to a person or group, typically characterized by its, thoughtful, and sometimes lengthy nature. Originating from the Greek word for “letter,” it often serves as a form of literature or an official communication rather than casual correspondence.

Key Details regarding James and Jude:

  • Family Structure: Matthew 13:55 and Mark 6:3 list four brothers—James, Joseph/Joses, Simon, and Jude (Judas)—along with unnamed sisters.
  • James the Just: Known as the leader of the Jerusalem church (Acts 15), recognized as a key pillar in the early church. He is credited with writing the Epistle of James and was likely martyred in Jerusalem.
  • Jude (Judas, not the one who sold Jesus): The author of the Epistle of Jude, who identified himself as a brother of James.
  • Initial Skepticism: According to John 7:3–5, Jesus’ brothers did not believe in him during his earthly ministry.
  • Post-Resurrection: James specifically is noted to have seen the resurrected Christ (1 Corinthians 15:7), after which he and his brothers became active leaders in the early church.

May 9, 2026. Yesterday I heard to get ready and walk thru the streets I would be led to walk thru after listening to the Bible, eating yogurt with granola and getting ready, with also putting on the full armor of the Lord. Always asking for people to see and hear him, as well as being less of me more of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’s name. When walking I was led to stop in very specific businesses to share the Good News of Jesus and have the people repeat after me the prayer of salvation, as the Holy Spirit led. This is the first city in the Americas, that was colonized by a group of Spaniards, Italians, Africans and Catholic priests. It is the oldest continuously inhabited European-established settlement in the Americas. The area has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is also known as Zona Colonial (Colonial Zone) or more colloquially as “La Zona” (The Zone).

The Ciudad Colonial is located on the west bank of the Ozama River, which bisects the city. It covers 1.06 km2 (0.41 sq mi) bounded by a walled perimeter. It is an important section of the city due to the high number of landmarks, including Alcázar de ColónFortaleza OzamaCatedral de Santa María la Menor, and others. The area is the main tourist attraction of Santo Domingo, even though the main sites of governmental and commercial activity are now in the more modern parts of the city.

The first settlement of what is now Santo Domingo was established by Bartholomew Columbus on the East bank of the Ozama River near the end of the 15th century. After the 1502 hurricane that claimed Francisco de Bobadilla among its victims, however, the city was relocated on the West bank under the leadership of Nicolás de Ovando. Ovando and his successor Diego Colón presided over the first constructions of the Colonial City, many of which still exist today. Santo Domingo’s fortifications were an important feature of the urban landscape. The defense wall (muralla) extended from the Ozama River to the Puerta del Conde, which was the entrance to the hinterland and the Western boundary of the city until the late 19th century.

The Spaniards used this settlement as the first point of influence in the Americas, from which they conquered other Caribbean islands and much of the mainland of the Americas. Santo Domingo was initially the political and cultural hub of Spanish presence in the new world, but after a few decades started to decline as the Spaniards focused their attention more on the mainland after conquering MexicoPeru, and other regions of Latin America. Ciudad Colonial nevertheless remained an important historical site.

In 1655, the Ciudad Colonial was submitted to a siege led by the English officers William Penn and Robert Venables. The 1655 invasion was thwarted by Spanish troops commanded by the Captain General of the Colony, Don Bernardino de Meneses y Bracamonte, Count of Peñalva, to whom the Puerta del Conde (“Gate of the Count”) is named after. The defensive wall was modified during this episode. Prior to the invasion, there was a fort at the site where the Puerta del Conde is today, Fuerte San Genaro. It is believed that the modification that occurred after the siege involved the expansion of the wall to the fort, effectively creating a bastionEl Baluarte del Conde.

In the late 19th century and early 20th century, the city started to expand beyond its old boundaries, but the Ciudad Colonial remained the main hub of activity until the Trujillo era. Trujillo also presided over the restoration of major monuments, including the Alcazar de Colón in the early 1950s. As missionaries we get revealed and get to learn about the History of each place the Holy Spirit sends us to do the Great Commission, to also learn what was left spiritually there and the deep spiritual roots that will be broken as people repent and proclaim Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Here is witchcraft, idolatry, that goes together with idolatry, Catholicism, voodoo, Human trafficking, homosexuality, lack of identity, addiction such as alcohol and drugs, but at the same time there are many chosen people that just need to be anointed and redeemed, in Jesus’s name. We are redeemed by Jesus to redeem others to Jesus, Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit does not put labels on people and does not let us focus on what the person we will speak to about Jesus is doing, but what they will do after repenting and proclaiming Jesus, as we read in John 14:6 and Romans 10.

When passing one of the many colonial Catholic churches; I was led by the Holy Spirit to gather all of the children, young adults and adults that were there as what it seemed a school trip, where there were about 50 people, the Holy Spirit had me gather all of them in that plaza, sharing the Good news of Jesus as we read in John 14:6 and Romans 10 then having them repeat the prayer of salvation as the Holy Spirit led, with all of us ending in clapping our hands for the Lord and many saying thank you, as it happens with those who are meant to receive, as the Holy Spirit tells us thru HIS word in the Bible, that those who are of God will hear the things of God and that we will know them by their fruits, which we read in Galatians 5.

Galatians 5: 19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Matthew 7: The Tree and Its Fruit

15 “Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves. 16 You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. 18 A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. 19 So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. 20 Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.

Then I kept walking till and giving the Good News of Jesus person by person, as the Holy Spirit led, with people saying the Prayer of Salvation. After I was led to keep walking in the colonial zone where I was led to go into a restaurant where I was led to share the Good News of Jesus out loud, with people being thankful. There was a man sitting eating and I heard from the Holy Spirit that he is a pastor to sit with him, the Holy Spirt will reveal who is who, as we humble ourselves daily to the Holy Spirit in Jesus name, by talking to him and reading the Bible, as HE leads, as well as being obedient, which comes thru our faith in Jesus. The man and I spoke as the Holy Spirit gave words, and the Holy Spirit had words for both of us, when done I was led to pray and keep going, after being led to give him my number, to speak as the Holy Spirit led with him and his wife.

After I heard to go to see a sister in Christ which the focus was her daughter that was in the store, her and I spoke, the Holy Spirit gave promptings to give her some of the amber and silver accessories as reminders, which she cried, then ending with us praying in the back for the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The mother/sister in Christ where the Holy Spirit has sent me before was led to give her bank card for me to get anything I needed from the supermarket, which I cried and was reminded of Joanna in the times of Jesus who was a merchant and wealthy woman who was one of the supporters of the Lord’s great commission when HE was here as a man. Her two daughters, granddaughter and I went to the supermarket so that they could help with the cart and the bags, as the items were chosen. Then we were led to walk to an area where there was a young adult that the Holy Spirit had words for as he was reminded by the Holy Spirit in me that he is like Joshua, who will bring his generation home to the Lord. I was led to pray for the anointing of the Holy Spirit and give him words and clear directions as to the next steps in his faith, he was very thankful, hugged me as those who are meant to understand react. The Bible says that those who are of God will hear the things of God. Thos who have ears will hear what the Holy Spirit has to tell us, as the one who convinces IS the HOLY SPIRIT thru us, as sanctified, set apart chosen people. We are the matches with the Holy Spirit that spark the fire of the Holy Spirit, they have an encounter with Jesus, king of kings’ Lord of Lords, thru the Holy Spirit in us.

John 8: 46 Which of you can truthfully accuse me of sin? And since I am telling you the truth, why don’t you believe me? 47 Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God. But you don’t listen because you don’t belong to God.”

John 16: But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate[a] won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.

Revelations 2: 29 “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” is a key Bible passage from John 10:27 (ESV). It highlights an intimate, trusting relationship every day, where followers of Jesus (the sheep) recognize His guidance, are known by the Holy Spirit, and obey His calling amidst other noises.

Key Aspects of This Promise:

  • Intimate Recognition: Believers are able to discern the Shepherd’s voice from “strangers” due to a personal, ongoing relationship.
  • Safety and Security: As the Good Shepherd, Jesus protects his flock, promising that no one can snatch them out of His or the Father’s hand.
  • Eternal Life: Following His voice leads to eternal life and security that transcends temporal dangers, as stated in John 10:28 (KJV).

This verse is part of Jesus’ broader teaching in John 10, emphasizing that, unlike a hired hand, the Good Shepherd cares for and knows His sheep personally

When getting back, as I heard to leave the phone and fast till 6 PM from a few internet pages, there were a lot of messages from the sister of “my mother” threatening me that they would take me to the police for things that were happening in the “mother’s apartment” to which the Holy Spirit had me pray, reminding me that no weapon formed against me shall prosper and replying to her and what possesses her, which I heard the spirit that possesses her, (which one of the spirits is a volture, which does not care how it gets material possessions):  I rebuke you; leave me in peace. I am not alone. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords is with me, and whoever harms or attacks one of His chosen ones will have to answer to Him, in the name of Jesus. Surrender your lives to Jesus. You weren’t taken to the prosecutor’s office when you were robbing “my mother” and had everything under your name back in 2021. Tell that to the prosecutor’s office. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. They know me at the prosecutor’s office because prayers have been offered to all the precincts here, and both divine and earthly justice can fall upon you. Leave me in peace in the name of Jesus. I am a woman of Jesus, of the Holy Spirit; that is why you mistreat me and the enemy uses you all to attack me. Leave me in peace in the name of Jesus. Isaiah 54: If any nation comes to attack you, it will not be because I have sent it; whoever attacks you will fall defeated. Revelation 21:8 “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice witchcraft, the idolaters, and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur (hell). This is the second death.” I was led to ask a few brothers and sisters for prayer for the attacks in Jesus’s name. I was also given scriptures from Matthew 5, Matthew 10, Matthew 12, Matthew 24 and Ephesians 6:10-18, as reminders to have peace and keep my eyes on the Lord, and how everything is spiritual. I was then led to refresh, eat dinner, do the laundry by hand in the kitchen sink, as led by the Holy Spirit, as there is no washing machine here, to be hung in the bathroom by the shower and the wall, and to watch the Chosen online, which has been so encouraging and reminders from the Holy Spirit, as I can really relate to the first disciples and Jesus, Our Lord and Savior, Holy Spirit. Every time we are going out to do the Great Commission we are attacked with so much heaviness, that is why is so important to put on the full armor as we read and understand in Ephesians 6:10-18, after the Great Commission too, as the enemies of the souls do not want anyone to be saved and redeemed, but Jesus, Holy Spirit wins, gives us HIS anointing and filling, all for the souls in the Great Commission. Romans 8 is a great reminder, in Jesus’s name.

Thankful for those who are praying for both my daughter and I, as well as for those who have and will be of monetary support all for the souls in the Great Commission.
