Reading from: Psalms 23

September 19,2025. Today woke up in Mao, Dominican Republic, after being in Yamasa, Monte Plata for a month and a half. Yesterday after prayer and listening to worship as I got ready, took a taxi to the bus stop to the capital, to from there take a taxi to the bus that would take me to Mao, arriving 10 minutes before the bus departed. On the bus was connected to a woman that needed to understand the plan of salvation as in many countries where the Holy Spirit sends people know of a God and in the case of the Catholic denomination they believe that if people do good they are saved also that there is an in between heaven and hell. They also break most of the 10 commandments, they believe in sprinkling water on children’s heads as a form of baptism, which Matthew 3 and Romans 10 teaches us that is thru water submersion, when the person has made the decision to repent and proclaim Jesus as the Lord and Savior, and teach people many things that are not biblical, so when evangelizing this all has to be broken down with a lot of direction from the Holy Spirit and love from the Holy Spirit, not criticizing the denomination, but sharing the biblical truth as the Holy Spirit leads so that those who are meant to understand, understand. This belief in this country goes hand in hand sometimes with witchcraft, which some people mix, not understanding the truth behind the practice, as evil spirits are called to do what they do. Witchcraft is mixed by people who also say they are “Christian’s”, because of the lack of understanding of Galatians 5 and Revelations 21. (Take the time to read them.)
I was led to take a taxi to the place where the Holy Spirit led to stay in Mao, I was welcomed in Mao by a man who rents apartments and is also a community lawyer. He showed me around the apartment and told me that for the other days he could switch me to a smaller apartment that pays less. The Holy Spirit always makes a way, as in Yamasa where the woman in charge accepted Jesus as her Lord and savior and agreed that I pay as the Lord provided and lowered the price from $35 dollars a night to $20-$28 dollars a night, which the Holy Spirit had me ask a few people and the place was paid. This place has many amenities but has some old rusted utensils that need changing. Usually the Holy Spirit places in places that need order and restoration both physically and spiritually. He told the woman who cleans to please clean the smaller apartment so that I can move there and he was sending someone to fix the washer that had been broken. I do feel sleepy a lot during the day after certain hours and would love to have more company, also I am not as fast as I was when I was younger, but the Lord knows why HE has had me like this for the time HE has. All for the souls and the Great Commission.
Mao: The Dominican city of Santa Cruz de Mao, or simply Mao, is the head municipality of the Valverde province, in the northwest of the country. It is the largest city of the Dominican northwest and the centre of the region. Its name, a Taíno word, comes from the River Mao, near the city.
For most of its history, the region was called “El Despoblado”. It means a region without any population. Since it is a very dry region, agriculturewas not possible.
When the governor of the Spanish colony gave the order in 1606 that everybody living on the northern coast had to move inland, some people came to live around the present Mao. They had cows that were raised in hatos; “hato”, which means a large farm for raising cattle (a ranch). So “hato” is the name of many places around Mao: Hatico, Hato del Yaque, Hato Nuevo, Hato Viejo, Hato del Medio.
The town of Mao was built close to where the Mao river flows into the Yaque del Norteriver. The first Catholic church was build in 1869.
Mao was made a Puesto Cantonal (an old category similar to the present Municipal District under a militarygovernment). In 1882, Mao was elevated to the category of municipality and in 1904 its official name was changed to “Valverde” after José Desiderio Valverde, past President of the Dominican Republic.[4]Because the name Mao was known by everybody and Valverde was a new name, people called the city as “Valverde (Mao)”, and it is still common to say so.
When the province was created in 1959, Mao was made its head municipality and provincial capital.[4]
Mao seems to be an upcoming municipality where there are very modern homes as well as houses that are been transformed. There is a lot of construction, with a private hospital and very exclusive stores. There is a mix of old money, very poor and there is a lot of idolatry thru Catholicism, which happens through Latin America with what the colonizers left. There is also a sense of a lot going on in the air, as this morning I cried and cried before heading to the police precinct to share the Good News of Jesus and read the Bible, which was gotten this morning on the way to the police precinct where there are people from what I was told by the locals that are waiting for a few months to be transferred to a jail. I was not able to see those incarcerated and share the Good News of Jesus with them as the man in charge was in another area, as the president of the Dominican Republic seemed to have been having and activity and I was told to come back tomorrow morning, which did not surprise the Margarita/ motor taxi driver as he mentioned there is a lot of evil going on the there, which makes sense of why I cried so much and that would be the first place the Holy Spirit sends me to.

I still gave out the Good News of Jesus paper in the precinct and in the area and everywhere else gone today. I heard to be here for a few more days, praying and pleading to the Lord that I do not feel as if this is my Great Commission with the provision and money, as sometimes I get the sense that if I don’t ask people won’t give, but the Holy Spirit know why I was feeling that way and how HE will move people to give for the rest of the nights and being here. Which is how it worked out the night before coming here HE moved a brother to give $300 dollars which were given to the woman in charge of the apartment as well as $100 dollars, as I had $120 left to pay for the last weeks in the apartment. On the way to Mao the Lord after me asking also moved a woman who is very challenged by this call to send $300 dollars which served to get food, transportation, a Bible and possibly pay for some of the nights here. Trusting that the Holy Spirit will move the people who have the money for all that is needed here. Sometimes is so hard as there is waiting and trusting, but the Lord always comes thru. I do want to get better at the waiting and understanding that this is HIS Great Commission not mine and that HE said HE would provide when HE called me back in 2015. Praying as always that the will of the Lord is done and that HIS kingdom comes in Jesus name as HE has me here planting seeds.
Thankful for those who are praying for both my daughter and I, and have been of monetary support for this Great Commission, as it is so needed always for telephone communication, internet packages have to be bought to have communication, transportation, personal needs, blessing others, rent, food and what ever else the Holy Spirit leads to spend on, all for the souls that will receive the Good News of Jesus .
