Less of me, more of You

Reading for today Matthew 5.

April 3,2024. Today woke up around 7AM to start getting ready to go to the homeless feeding program on 4th street, where the Holy Spirit has me interact and share the Good News is Jesus the Jesus way. Last night was heavily attacked mentally after the manger of the hotel mentioned that by today the nights from Sunday, April 28 till today which the total is $664 had to be paid by today. Also someone else met in the hotel sending me an email saying all kinds of things. It was all spiritual as our war is not against flesh and blood as we learn in Ephesians 6:10-19. On Sunday I was led to go to a church and after praying with the pastors; one said he would take care of the hotel. I have been praying and yesterday I was led to ask my daughter for the telephone number of one of the women she connected with on Sunday, and I was able to get his email and follow up, today the preaching pastor answered stating that he does not recall saying he was going to help. Maybe the preaching one and the one that spoke to me have not spoken. It was interesting for me, but at the same time the one who called me was the Lord and this is HIS Great Commission. Waiting with expectation. While in the homeless feeding program; one of the ladies was led to give me an envelope with $100 dollars, so that leaves $564 to be paid by tonight for the nights from Sunday till tonight. Trusting the Holy Spirit will move who ever HE moves for this money and moving forward as HE has done for the past 12 years since receiving Jesus as my Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit also reminds thru HIS word in the Bible: John 1: ”The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.“ Regardless of the attacks, opposition, waiting constantly for provision; so much has been done and will continue to be done. In Jesus name, for HIS Great Commission. It’s never boring and I am reminded also of: Matthew 5: ”“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.“

While in the feeding program was led to give the Good News of Jesus to many, walking thru the park giving out the Good News of Jesus paper and out loud, The Lord is faithful with HIS creation, HE will seek and seek until HE comes back as HE reminds in Matthew 24:12-14: ”And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.“

After listening and hearing some of the people in the program as well, helping clean up and saying goodbye with receiving hugs from a couple of the volunteers; I was led to come to another part of Manhattan to eat and share the Good News of Jesus paper, which was also shared out loud in the train on the way here with people being thankful. In the restaurant the Good News of Jesus was shared out loud as I sat and waited to meet with my daughter later and wait and see how the Holy Spirit will move to pay for the stay and go back to the hotel. I was led to contact the church and was given the email but of the pastor that preached not the one with whom I spoke to who offered to pay for the hotel as of Sunday. The Lord will and as reminded by a sister in Christ HE has already made a way. I will continue where the Holy Spirit leads, praying that the will of the Lord is done and HIS kingdom comes in Jesus name. Psalm 23 keeps coming up and the song shared at the bottom of this blog post. It’s a humbling honor to have access to the Lord’s creation with the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit, as we read in: Galatians 5 and Romans 12, Ephesians 4, 1 Corinthians 12, 13 &14.

At the restaurant was led to ask the waiters to pack some of the meals as people left the food, to which there was an opposition but they still did, as usually I am led by the Holy Spirit to leave half of the food to give to someone as led with the Good News of Jesus spoken and with the paper. It’s an amazing way to be of blessing to others and a great evangelistic tool. With also sharing the Good News of Jesus out loud in the bus and people being thankful. We are also reminded by the Holy Spirit with Matthew 25: ³⁵ For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, ³⁶ I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ ³⁷ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? ³⁸ When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? ³⁹ When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ ⁴⁰ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

After arriving to the interfaith hotel and taking a shower the manager called and asked that I pack my things and the room was rented to someone that could pay that arrived in that moment. I was led to pray with the man who had rented the room who said he was a Christian and anoint him with the Holy Spirit. Before praying with him he was led to give me $20 dollars and stated he felt bad, but I reassured him that I am in the Lord’s hands, that what was important is that he had a place to sleep tonight. What needed to be done in that place was done. I had heard in the spirit that they were going to ask me to live. I was led in the spirit to send the manager thru message: Numbers 6:24-26: ”The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.“

While in the process of packing to leave; I was led to share with a few brothers and sisters in Christ about what was going on and one of the women that the Holy Spirit recently connected me with was led to have me over to sleep on their sofa bed, where she and her husband live. The Lord and HIS ways, HE is limitless and like a puzzle, connecting for the souls and for the Great Commission to be accomplished. We are HIS vessels as we give our lives to Jesus, as we learn in Romans 10: ⁹ If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. And John 14: ⁶ Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. The whole way the Holy Spirit provided men to carry the suitcase up and down the stairs in the train station, even having some come in just to help and then leave the platform, the Lord and HIS ways. Always praying that the Lord’s kingdom to come and will and that is Less of me more of HIM, in Jesus name. John 3: ³⁰ He must become greater; I must become less.” Which is the Lord’s desire for all that have given their lives to Jesus and Matthew 16: ²⁴ Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.

I don’t know who or how many people the Lord will move for the rest of the nights, transportation, food, and other needs moving forward; it would be a blessing to many if it could be you.
